Curved Cavitrays are available for all masonry applications from ground level to parapet
Wind driven rain striking curved cavity walls will flow diagonally, causing increased volumes of water to travel across and around the masonry. As well as affecting the extent of localised rain washing over the surface of the masonry, curved cavity walls also change the behaviour of water and its permeation of the outer skin.
While the pitch of a roof abutting curved masonry may remain constant, the actual angle of intersection alters at every course as the wall turns. Accordingly, the DPC within the cavity wall and the actual flashing both change in shape and dimension at every intersecting course.
Curved Type X Cavitrays for curved cavity walls
Cavity Trays of Yeovil schedules and manufactures preformed, individual curved components, providing a warranted assured build detail, fulfilling Building Regulation requirements. Every Cavitray and flashing overlaps the lower Cavitray and flashing. Externally, this produces a layered flashing arrangement that is able to withstand increased volumes of water-wash. The lower layer provides a secondary stop should rain be blown under the flashing leading edge – a benefit not possible with conventional running flashings.

Internally, the preformed Cavitray creates an interconnecting DPC staircase, arresting all downward permeating dampness. Each tray is numbered and the mason has only to numerically build-in trays as the wall is raised.
