Powermatic closers eschew the mechanical arms and control boxes of surface mounted devices in favour of a neat, concealed aesthetic

The closers have been used on the main entrance doors to all 185 residential care rooms. They are particularly suited to healthcare projects as they are completely concealed when the door is closed. Both standard and Free Swing versions of the Powermatic closer have been installed between the door and frame, making them invisible when the door is closed and unobtrusive when it is open. They can also be fitted 300mm from the bottom of the door.

These factors make the closers suitable for use with continuous hinges in anti-ligature and anti-barricade systems, while also allowing designers to create more homely interiors that are free from the unsightly mechanical arms and control boxes associated with surface mounted devices. The devices are also less susceptible to damage through misuse, tampering or vandalism, which can compromise the performance of the closer and door. For psychiatric care facilities, these attributes ensure a safer, more therapeutic environment, which is valued by clinicians, staff and patients.
