A pair of striking new-build houses benefit from Recticel’s Eurowall + full-fill insulation boards

Recticel’s Eurowall + full-fill insulation boards change the way a wall works without changing the way it’s constructed. This innovative product provided the airtight solution for two striking new-build houses in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. Designed with thermal efficiency in mind, the detached, five-bedroom dwellings required an insulation panel that achieved lower U-values while maintaining traditional cavity widths. Eurowall + proved the ideal solution with 500-square-metres of panels used on the walls.

Eurowall + features tongue-and-groove joints on all four edges

Capable of achieving a U-value of 0.18 W/m²K in a traditional 100mm masonry cavity wall, Eurowall + is the first rigid, full-fill insulation board to feature tongue-and-groove jointing on all four edges. Its size and airtightness provide increased performance compared to typical partial-fill solutions – without widening the footprint of the external wall. Nicholas Peck, Contracts Manager at Mentmore Homes, the development company responsible for the Gerrards Cross houses said, “A high-quality product was required for this high-profile, low-energy project and Eurowall + didn’t disappoint.”

Eurowall + provides lower U-values while maintaining traditional cavity widths

While many rigid full-fill products are 95mm or thicker for a designed cavity width of 100mm, Eurowall + provides a 90mm insulation board to achieve the required thermal performance without impeding conventional bricklaying techniques. Eurowall + panel’s excellent energy performance and resistance to external moisture will play a key role in creating a healthy living environment for the houses’ occupants.
