New colour choices
Tata Steel has refreshed Colorcoat Prisma® to include some reimagined colour options. The updated ‘Seren’ range, inspired by the original ‘Elements’ collection (which will be carefully transitioned over time), features a new selection of colours, each offering a timeless, strong aesthetic. Included in the palette is Seren Oren, Seren Aurum, Seren Champagne, Seren Titanium and Seren Mirage. This is in addition to the existing selection of solid, matt and special metallic colour options – giving architects and specifiers greater design freedom.
For greater design choice, the Repertoire® bespoke colour service from Tata Steel can match almost any solid colour (subject to a minimum order quantity), whether the aim is to make the building stand out or blend in.
Simplified range, consistent performance
Colorcoat Prisma® features an advanced three-layer coating technology, delivering strength, performance and reliability. In an improvement over the original Elements range, the thickness on all Seren colours is the same as all standard solid, matt and metallic options – meaning specifiers have a wider choice with no difference in product specification. In addition, the Textured offering, launched a few years ago, is an ideal robust roofing product, due to being an overall thicker product at a nominal 70 microns.
Thanks to the innovative three-layer coating, Colorcoat Prisma® delivers the highest level of protection against UV and corrosion, achieving Ruv5 and RC5+ according to EN 10169, and ensuring long term colour and gloss retention.
Confidex® Guarantee extension
The Confidex® Guarantee by Tata Steel is the most comprehensive guarantee in Europe and is offered directly to the building owner – avoiding the challenge of navigating complex supply chains in the unlikely event of a coating failure. It also includes the use of Photovoltaic (PV) frame modules with no reduction in guarantee duration.
The Confidex® Guarantee has been simplified and enhanced for the entire Colorcoat Prisma® range. Across the special new Seren shades, the Confidex® duration for roofs and walls is 40 years for inland environments and 30 years for coastal environments, offering greater peace of mind for building owners. More importantly, the roof duration for all colours have extended from 35 years to 40 years within inland environments, and coastal has increased from 25 years to 30 years.
Further choice
As well as the new Seren shades, the relaunched Colorcoat Prisma® collection offers even greater design freedom and flexibility. In addition to the standard clearcoat supplied across the full Colorcoat Prisma® colour range, there is also a Sparkle option available across select colours, subject to a minimum order quantity.
Recognising the challenges of a warming climate and the need to reduce the cooling demand of buildings, a limited range of Colorcoat Prisma® colours will be available with an improved Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) compared to the standard colour versions. Those with a solar reflective pigment option include Cream, Hamlet, Oyster and Anthracite colours.
