Set within the Metropolitan Green Belt in Hertfordshire, Rosebury Farm is a carefully considered residential development designed to balance contemporary architecture with its sensitive rural surroundings.
Specified by Squared Architects, the project uses CUPACLAD® 101 Logic natural slate cladding from CUPA PIZARRAS to create a modern yet sympathetic façade that integrates seamlessly into the landscape.
The use of natural slate was key to achieving the planning and aesthetic objectives of the scheme. Its dark, textured finish allows the upper storey of the building to recede visually, reducing its impact within the Green Belt setting while maintaining a strong architectural identity.
CUPACLAD® 101 Logic offers a fully engineered rainscreen cladding system, combining the durability of natural slate with a precise, contemporary installation method. The system’s invisible fixing design ensures a clean, uninterrupted appearance, while also providing long-term performance and low maintenance.
Beyond aesthetics, sustainability played a central role in the specification. Natural slate is a low-impact material with a long lifespan, making it a responsible choice for projects seeking to minimise environmental impact. Its durability ensures the façade will maintain its performance and appearance over time, even in exposed conditions.
Installation was carried out by Roof Brothers Ltd, ensuring a high-quality finish and attention to detail throughout. The combination of expert installation and a proven cladding system has resulted in a façade that meets both architectural and technical requirements.
Rosebury Farm demonstrates how natural materials can be used in a contemporary way to meet the demands of modern design, while still responding sensitively to planning constraints and the surrounding environment.
