Impey’s bespoke-designed linear drainage channel features a highly polished stainless steel top

Barratt London’s flagship Nine Elms Point development comprises 645 homes with an extensive range of high-specification options, including modern wetrooms with on-trend, linear drainage channels. Standard ‘off the shelf’ linear drainage products proved too short for the washrooms, so the developer commission Impey’s R&D team to create a bespoke channel that would enhance the enclosure’s aesthetic appearance, while effectively draining water from the powerful ‘rainforest’ showerheads.

Functional and robust, as well as aesthetically pleasing, the floor channel drainage moulding can be fully installed before it is screeded in place. Manufactured in three parts for ease of installation, the highly polished, stainless steel drain top, is fitted on apartment completion, keeping it safe from harm during the construction process. The bespoke linear drainage channels have proved so effective that installation at other Barratt London sites is currently being considered.

The project also includes Impey’s WaterGuard tanking product, which has been used to waterproof the wetrooms. It features a self-adhesive membrane with preformed detailing to ensure watertight detailing.
