When Italian architect Vincenzo De Cotiis redesigned the flagship store for this high-end fashion house in London, he wanted to capture the company’s refined essence in both the layout and sophisticated aesthetic. He also wanted to integrate the brand’s famous and distinctive chequered pattern throughout.

With the help of our Oscar Evo-Blade razor-edge trim, De Cotiis was able to create sharp, recessed lighting grids in the ceiling design that evoked the brand’s signature tartan motif. This No 1 Sloane Street boutique now acts as the blueprint for a new global design concept that the brand is rolling out across its stores.

The patented Oscar Evo-Blade was developed by Oscar Acoustics to overcome many of the problems commonly associated with ceiling trims, such as cracking and air filtration. Evo-Blade also works with a variety of configurations, from regular plasterboard and plaster to acoustic sprays and plasters, such as the Oscar Elite and SonaSpray ranges of fire-rated architectural acoustic finishes.

The benefits of Oscar Evo-Blade include:

  • Creates slimline ceiling edge appearance, hiding bulky ceiling and wall build-ups.
  • No cracking or discolouring of ceilings.
  • Aluminium can be powder-coated any colour.
  • Multiple aligning slots for perfect corners and straight runs.
  • A shallower angle means it is hidden from further back, creating an infinity edge illusion.
  • Assists in minimising unwanted shadows and reflections when being used as part of a feature light channel or feature-lit ceiling edge.
  • No restrictions on the designer to use a particular lighting system.
  • Designed to work with both acoustic and non-acoustic products.
  • Designed and manufactured in Great Britain.
