Most public buildings delivered today will still be operating in 2050. If we design them conventionally, they will become retrofit liabilities

On Thursday 21 May from 10:00–11:30am we’re hosting Regenerative Futures: from green buildings to high-performance assets at the Dockside Pavilion at UKREiiF.

Chaired by Isabel Allen, Editor of Architecture Today, the session brings together architects from the Regenerative Architecture Index and influential clients to explore the way regenerative architecture can deliver public value for future generations and will include presentations from:

  • Tom Bloxham, Founder and Chair, Urban Splash
  • Councillor Ruairi Kelly, City Convener for Housing and Development, Glasgow City Council
  • Holly Lewis, Founding Partner, We Made That
  • Gary Clark, Principal and Managing Director, HKS London

Focussing on a broad definition of value the discussion will consider commercial return on taxpayers money as well as attempting to quantify the value of creating buildings that give back more energy than they take, improve occupant experience, restore biodiversity, reduce flood risk and overheating in cities, create healthier environments and become net-positive contributors to their community and neighbourhood.
