This year, Origin celebrates its 20 year anniversary. Over the past two decades, we have established ourselves as a leading British manufacturer, growing rapidly from humble beginnings with our first bi-fold door system, to now offering a wide product range that suits any part of any home. We have defined our industry by establishing unrivalled lead times and a fantastic customer service reputation that attracts business for our Partners as well as ourselves.

This didn’t happen overnight; it has taken time to grow into the Origin our Partners know and depend on today. Our journey started back in 2002…

2002
Origin Launches
Cousins, Neil Ginger and Victoria Brocklesby, spotted a gap in the market for high-quality, sustainable folding sliding doors. Their solution was to build a company capable of manufacturing the UK’s finest quality aluminium doors. The result was the Origin Bi-fold Door, a cleverly designed door system with a unique free-glide running system, beautifully made at our factory in High Wycombe.

Origin Introduces ‘Your Lead Times, Not Ours’
Origin launches a unique promise, which guarantees delivery of its most popular products in as little as 24-hours – ideal for installers working to tight deadlines.

Origin’s first window: the OW-80

2014
Origin Launches its First Window
After 12 years manufacturing bi-fold doors, Origin launched its first window: the fully customisable OW-80. Made bespoke from high-quality aluminium, the OW-80 is sustainable and thermally efficient. Plus, it was the first of its kind to incorporate an internal and external flush casement.

Origin Introduces Aerogel for Unrivalled Energy Ratings
In 2014, we also introduced space-age technology, designed to optimise thermal efficiency and reduce a property’s carbon footprint. The OW-80 was the first window to offer Aerogel – a powerful insulating material, originally developed for use in space shuttles and astronauts’ space suits – as an optional upgrade.

2016
Origin Launches the Residential Door
Keen to help Partners accommodate whole house projects, Origin launched its Residential Door – allowing homeowners to specify all their external windows and doors from one manufacturer.

Origin Introduces OSS
Origin launched its revolutionary ordering and quoting software, Origin Sale Safe (OSS). The intuitive software makes the ordering process accurate and efficient, with new quotations taking just minutes.

2017
Origin Launches the Inline Slider
To offer Partners solutions for a wide range of property types, Origin launched its first sliding door, the Inline Slider (OS-20), which features huge individual maximum panel sizes and sightlines of just 20mm for panoramic views.

Origin Launches the OW-70 Slimline Window
To meet growing homeowner requests for slimmer sightlines and bigger expanses of glazing, Origin developed the OW-70 window.

2019
Origin Launches the OB-49
Following the success of the Slimline Window, Origin launched its slimline bi-fold door, the OB-49. The system features slim sightlines, ultra-low U-values, and Origin’s unique security features, including an eight-point locking system.

Origin Launches the Patio Slider
The same year, Origin introduced its OS-44 and OS-77 Patio Sliders – two modern, architecturally striking variations on the traditional patio door system.

Origin Forms a Dedicated Commercial Team
Origin established a dedicated commercial team to help partners win bigger, multi-site, multi-plot projects with developers.

2020
Origin Awarded Queen’s Award for International Trade
Origin is proud to be British. We champion British manufacturing excellence, which is why we were honoured to receive a Queen’s Award in 2020 for our international trade success.

Origin Acquire New 55,000 square foot Facility
Origin’s new facility in Bicester allowed stock-holding capacity to be increased by 82 percent. This ensures that materials are always available, we can deliver, and our Partners never miss an install day.

2021
Origin Launches the OS-29
The OS-29 joined the Patio Slider range, as the slimmest ‘semi-dry’ glazed patio sliding door on the market.

2022
Origin Launches the New Internal Door
Origin introduces its first ever internal product to give partners more opportunity to win business inside the home, as well as outside the home. The OI-30 is a steel-look system that helps divide the footprint of a property without disrupting the flow of natural light. It is fully customisable and available with additional fixed screens.

Over the years, we have focussed on bringing new, high-quality, and innovative products to market that homeowners want and allow our Partners to grow their businesses. Over the next 20 years, we will continue to innovate, and drive more success for the Origin family.
