The Awards Committee
A panel of experts will form the Architecture Today Awards Committee to assess entries and select the finalists for the live crit event in London in September where the winners would be selected, later being revealed at the AT Awards Winners’ Party in November.
The Awards Committee meet a few days after the submission deadline, convening at the Architecture Today offices in London to produce a shortlist of finalists. Chaired by Architecture Today editor, Isabel Allen, the Awards Committee comprised professionals from across the built environment industry.
The committee consider key areas of performance, including construction approach, environmental performance, user comfort and well-being, accessibility, inclusivity and legibility, adaptability and flexibility, facilitation of sustainable lifestyles, robustness and resilience, biodiversity and natural capital, social impact, civic pride and sense of place, and contribution to shared learning.
The Committee have a critical role in the awards process and ultimately come together to shortlist buildings across the 12 categories of the Awards: Education; Healthcare; One-off Houses; Hospitality, Retail, Sport & Leisure; Landscape & Public Realm; Mixed Use; Religion & Culture; Residential Development; Transport & Infrastructure Workplace; International, and the Student Prize.
