Architecture, culture and gastronomy collide in a vibrant Japanese restaurant in the centre of Prague, designed by local practice SOA architekti.
Designed by SOA architekti (who also designed The Park of Memories as featured in our parks Summer roundup), Ramencraft, is a 140-square-metre Japanese restaurant that fuses architecture, culture and gastronomy in the centre of Prague, Czech Republic. Pixel graphics form a key element of the design and include a partially tiled wall at the entrance depicting Czezilla. Merging the gaming world with traditional Japanese culture, the intention is to create a fun, energetic dining environment.
Contrasting blue and bright red tones intertwine throughout the interior, adding to the impression of dynamism and liveliness. The colours are not only intended to refresh the space visually, but also emphasise the restaurant’s fast food approach.
The concept of Ramencraft itself brings a new perspective to fast food ramen, explains SOA architekti. Visitors can select their favourite ramen dish at the counter and then find a place to sit. The front part of the restaurant features individual booths for undisturbed soup slurping, while the back, area employs highly expressive graphics, helping the diners to immerse themselves in an authentic world of Japanese gaming.
