For architects, daylight is a design tool as much as a building necessity. It draws people closer to the places they live in, defines space, and creates atmosphere. Whitesales is aware that every project is unique. For this reason, our custom roof glazing options are made to allow architects complete control over their vision.

Tailored to your project
Our custom rooflights are designed to meet your specific needs, whether they are for a private home, a modern business space or the delicate restoration of a listed building. From multipane glass systems and barrel vaults to pyramids and lanterns, we design solutions that perfectly complement your design goals.

Dimensions, glazing specifications, finish, and performance criteria are all customisable. Options include ventilated or smoke-ventilated configurations, specialised glass to regulate solar gain or U-values, and powder-coated or anodised frames in any RAL colour. Whitesales guarantee design flexibility without sacrificing performance with extrusions up to 175 mm deep and slopes ranging from 5° to 85°.

Performance built in
Architects can specify with confidence knowing that our bespoke solutions are backed by comprehensive structural calculations, glass designs that are well-tailored to g-value and light transmission targets, and manufacturing processes that put quality and compliance first. Our technical precision means that our roof glazing options not only look the part, but also meet the energy efficiency, durability, and safety requirements of contemporary architecture.

Heritage sensitivity
One thing that is crucial in our Conservation and Heritage work, is to keep the authenticity of the building in-tact. Whitesales’ custom heritage rooflights imitate original profiles and detailing, using products, such as thin glazing bars to low-profile aluminium frames in our classic finishes.

An example of our heritage work can be seen at the Grade 1 listed Somerset House, one of the UK’s greatest architectural treasures. Here, we installed a bespoke semi-circular rooflight, double-glazed with thematically sealed glass units and an automatic electric opening section to allow for smoke ventilation. Perfectly in keeping with the heritage design of the original, the rooflight meets the latest glazing regulations, improving thermal performance and interior comfort.

Designed and made in Britain
All our custom solutions are produced in the UK, therefore architects can be sure that they will always be of a high standard, adhere to British regulations, and have shorter supply chains for dependable delivery. Thanks to our local production facilities, we can respond quickly, plan phased deliveries directly to site, and turn around custom designs in as little as 3-5 weeks.

We are trusted by architects in the public, commercial and residential space because of our unique combination of British craftsmanship and engineering efficiency.
