New facsimile editions of the Bauhausbücher

Adding to the smorgasbord of activities and publications marking the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus this year is a set of five facsimile editions by Swiss publisher Lars Müller, made in collaboration with Bauhaus-Archiv and the Museum für Gestaltung, Berlin. A reproduction of the 14 issues of the Bauhaus Journal (412pp, £61) contains an essay by Astrid Bähr and English translations. Copies of four of the 14 Bauhausbücher (Bauhaus books), which were produced to document the accomplishments and concerns of the school, are also available, priced £35: Walter Gropius’ ‘International Architecture’, Paul Klee’s ‘Pedagogical Sketchbook’, Piet Mondrian’s ‘New Design’ and László Moholy-Nagy’s ‘Painting, Photography & Film’, all of which date from 1925.
