With an international reputation for creating outstanding fireplace design, French manufacturer, Focus, expands its range of eco-efficient suspended, pivoting sculptural fireplaces, that conform to the latest regulations. The iconic Gyrofocus is now available in a glazed version in addition to both Domofocus and Ergofocus, two further symbols of the brand. Alongside these glazed wood burners, Focus also has an extensive range of gas-powered and outdoor ranges.

The glazed versions retain their 360-degree swivel action and have all the qualities of the original design without the risk of sparks flying thanks to the ingenious frameless sliding glass window that fits seamlessly into the hearth. This allows for a perfect view of the wood-burning fire with its flickering flames, all with the added benefit of energy efficiency.

The Glazed Domofocus from Focus

The newest Glazed Gyrofocus remains extremely straightforward to use. Thanks to the regulation of the air supply at the base of the opening, it is very easy to adjust the power of the fire and choose low or high-intensity options. A key positioned on the duct also helps conserve the fireplace’s energy and maintain heat in the room.

The Slimfocus as the name suggest is a slender periscope of fire where its simple and elegant design makes it an ideal choice for a wide variety of architectural projects. High performance and low energy, Ecodesign and DEFRA approved, this multi award-winning design is available as a suspended and pivoting or fixed version and as with all Focus fires is made to measure.

Beyond design, technology
Focus is the only company in the sector to constrain the combustion chamber of its fireplaces to their design. This already difficult challenge has become much more complex with the ambition to close its fireplaces and provide them with real energy performance, making them eco-efficient. The organic shape of these iconic models was not initially suited to this dual technological problem.

Focus began a dedicated transformation of its industrial process ten years ago, by creating an R&D department and investing more than €6 million  into it. In order to further speed up and streamline the certification process, Focus has also equipped itself with a test bench identical to that used by the European laboratories that award Ecodesign approval. It is thanks to this strong technological component, to a culture very specific to its own products and to a limited series production that Focus can take up these challenges.

The new Glazed models are compliant with all new legislation concerning wood-burning appliances that came into force early in 2022. However, Focus has been pushing boundaries since 2015; it has implemented the strictest regulations complying to the highest environmental levels including a 4-star 4 Stelle rating in Italian environmental regulations, one of the most stringent in the world.

Focus has been designing and manufacturing its innovative sculptural fireplaces for over 50 years; specifying them on projects all around the world. They have worked with many leading international architects from Bjarke Ingels, Chris Dyson Architects, Foster & Partners, Isay Weinfeld, Marcio Kogan, Renzo Piano, to Snøhetta and many more.
