RAI members honed their photography skills at a free-to-attend photography workshop with leading architectural photographer Timothy Soar held on June 3rd at Downstairs at dMFK, a studio/product gallery/events venue developed by dMFK in the basement of their Fitzrovia studio.
The workshop was attended by Alasdair Ben Dixon from Collective Works, Sana Tabassum from Coffey Architects, Collette Raine from PAD Studio, Jess Beaumont from Hawkins\Brown, Peter Hanson from van Heyningen and Haward, Mario Vieira from Scott Brownrigg, Daniel Leon from Square Feet Architects, Frederico Schilling from Flair Studio and Kieran Knott, Yen Min Ting, Victoria Chenais and Rafi from dMFK.
Photographs taken by Alasdair Ben Dixon during the workshop. Focussing on the theme of Giving Comfort, he homed in on those elements of the space – from air-conditioning units to cushions – that make it a comfortable place to work.
Designed to encourage RAI members to develop a coherent visual language for their work as an integral part of the design process, the workshops place an emphasis on community, discussion and shared principles, creating an open and constructive environment in which participants are able to test ideas and refine their approach. Numbers are strictly limited to ensure that each attendee can contribute meaningfully and gain clear, practical value from subsequent feedback.
Further dates have been scheduled throughout the year with a diverse range of locations designed to attract a wide range of RAI members.
