Demonstrate the enduring value of your work. The Architecture Today Awards recognise buildings that stand the test of time; projects that have proven their worth through years of use, adaptation, and continued relevance. If you’ve designed a building that has delivered long-term value for its client, users and community, now is the time to showcase your achievement.

As Glenn Howells, one of last year’s winners, put it:

In some ways, it’s more exciting to win an award for something that’s been there for over 20 years because it shows that it works, not just that it was great on the day we handed over.”

Reconnect with clients and strengthen relationships

One of the joys of these awards is the opportunity to reconnect with past clients. As we know, architecture is not just about the moment of handover, it’s about the journey of a building in use. Entering the awards is a perfect excuse to pick up the phone, catch up on how your project has performed, and even lay the groundwork for future collaborations.

Winning an Architecture Today Awards is a powerful recognition for clients; validation that their project wasn’t just a success on completion, but has continued to thrive. Sarah Dunning, client for the award-winning Gloucester Services, noted “Ten years ago, we hadn’t proved the concept. Now we feel we’re some way down the line.”

Recognise the wider long-term impact of decisions taken by far-sighted clients

Shaun Sutar from the TNG Community Centre described the moment of winning as “incredible to see the steering group’s hard work and journey come full circle. Now their legacy supports not just the development of the Well Park community, but the whole of Lewisham Borough.”
